Grey and overcast for the morning, with occasional rain, generally light and patchy, but possibly with a briefly heavier burst. The afternoon should be mostly or entirely dry but the sunshine isn’t likely to materialise until it’s nearly dinnertime. Winds will be decreasing with time… force 3-4 W’ly in the morning, then just light force 2 by late afternoon. Max temps 19-20°C in most places but 21°C in Town.

The surf will be about 2 feet and weak, but increasingly clean. The swimming conditions will be best on the east coast in the morning, but lovely all around the Island towards the back end of the day. Low tide will be at 1pm. High tides around 7am and pm (8m and 8.4m respectively).

Saturday

Dry and increasingly sunny, with the light force 2 SSW’ly breeze gradually wafting slightly warmer air over the Islands. Everywhere should be a degree warmer than on Saturday, maybe 2 degrees warmer in some northern locations.

The surf will be 2-3 feet and clean. Swimming, kayaking and SUP conditions equally lovely. Tides will be high at 7:30am and 7:45pm (8.3m and 8.7m). Low tide will be at 1:50pm.

Sunday

Make the most of Monday, because it will be super-sunny, with lovely light and warm S’ly breezes, taking most locations to a max of 23°C and maybe taking Town and the Bridge all the way to 24°C. A band of rain will sweep through early on Tuesday morning though, probably not lingering any longer than the rush-hour traffic. However, the clearance of cloud will be very gradual, not really becoming properly sunny until late afternoon, and the force 3-4 WSW will probably prevent temperatures from exceeding 21°C.

The surf will be 2 feet and gorgeously clean on Monday, then 3-4 feet but rather choppy through Tuesday. Swimming conditions will be bliss in all areas through Monday, but the east coast will be the only area that’s similarly special on Tuesday. Tides will be high around breakfast time and towards dusk (ranging between 8.6m and 8.9m). Low tides will be in the early afternoons.

Monday and Tuesday

Hump day looks like an improving day. Perhaps a bit cloudy and breezy to start but an increasingly sunny and windless affair in the afternoon, with the temperature probably peaking around 21°C again. Thursday about a degree warmer as the skies should be big and blue for the vast majority of the day, with the winds also stay light force 2 until late afternoon or evening, when they will increase to force 3-4. Friday probably maintaining that force 3-4 WSW’ly wind, to give us a decidedly average August day… mixed cloud and sunshine, the slimmest chance of a brief light shower… Town always feeling slightly warmer than the rest of the Island.

The surf will generally be around 3 feet… really clean late Wednesday and early Thursday, but a little choppier thereafter. Swimming conditions great in all areas on Wednesday, but definitely smoothest on the east-coast after that. Tides will be high in the mid-mornings (gradually reducing from 8.8m and 8.3m) and low in the mid-afternoons.

Wednesday to Friday

The next forecast update will be on Monday evening…
